Derek Weidman Demo
Aloha Club Members,
Some photos for you all out there that missed a Great Demo by Derek. He carves on a lathe using multi-multi axis turning techniques that are truly amazing to watch!l Plus he grinds and burns with a torch, and also embellishes with Pyrography and Paint. He made a Wolf head and a Turtle so very fast, both instantly, with no fear and masterful skill. He moved the Wolf head probably 20 times on different cutting axis planes, and the Turtle he moved at least 15 different times...all very rapidly. Derek is a very gifted young man and masterful Wood Lathe Artist! He's setting the Bar even Higher for Turning & Creativity with his talents. WOW! In-joy. 🌀Mydock http://weidmanwoodsculpture.com/gallery/ |

Facebook Page
Aloha woodturners! I quickly set up a page on FB for our club and just put in some things from our web site but I would love to add much more and to change things once it is established. Don't really want to duplicate the web site but it can lead people to it which certainly helps to get the word out. If you know any woodturners, and especially those on FaceBook, please either invite them yourselves or send me an email with contact info. We can reach interested people from all over the world and it is also a simple way to show off your work as well. Anyone can add photographs, events, whatever is pertinent as long as you "like" the page. It can grow quickly if everyone adds a bit to it. I plan to redo the statement and profile photo but just used what was quickly available for now.
The URL is https://www.facebook.com/BigIslandWoodturners
This is your invitation to "like" the page if you are a FB user. If you aren't you can still visit the page but you won't get notifications. Again, send me emails for anyone who might be interested in seeing this page, whether they are woodturners or not. And if you visit, there are a few other clubs who also have pages you can check out. See you on FB!
